Turnenin son ayağı olan Lizbon konserinde yarım yamalak Portekizce’siyle Pearl Jam’in bir süre için son konseri olduğunu açıklayan Eddie’nin cümleleri internette dalgalanmaya sebep oldu… paniğe gerek yok! Grup ayrılmıyor, konser vermeyi bırakmıyor… sorun yok. Sadece Backspacer turnesi bitti.

Son günlerde PJ camiasında elden ele dolaşan, bloglar arası baş döndüren yeni cevher parça “Better Days” meğer Julia Roberts’ın başrolde oynadığı “Eat Pray Love” isimli film için Eddie Vedder tarafından bsetelenmiş! Haberi duyuran www.theskyiscrape.com sitesine ve de kaynak site http://music-mix.ew.com’ a göre parçanın “My love is saved for the universe, see me now I’m bursting / on one planet, so many turns, different worlds” gibi sözleri filmin temasıyla örtüşüyormuş.

Howard Zinn Anısına Birkaç Söz… February 2, 2010
Geçtiğimiz günlerde hayata veda eden tarihçi ve aktivist Howard Zinn için, daha önce burada da yayınladığım “The People Speak” projesinde de birlikte çalıştığı Eddie Vedder’dan birkaç söz:

One phrase that Howard Zinn made irrelevant is that “only the good die young.,,” Howard Zinn passed away today at age 87, and he was great.
Though he had a full life, one that the rest of us can only aspire to, the news is still heartbreaking. For we have lost a truly bright light, and a wisdom seemingly unparalleled.
Fortunately he has left us with a body of work so extraordinary that it will be drawn upon for centuries to come…
He was a true and constant source of inspiration for myself and countless others.. For me, he was the true embodiment of hope… And a living reminder to keep that hope alive.
I’m so grateful for his friendship..
I will miss him for the rest of my days.
